2004 - 2005 - Romeo and Juliet

A return to Shakespeare and possibly the most famous love story ever told, which is quite a challenge for the company to perform such a well known classic play. Elements of the play were redefined to create meaning for the actors and our audience. Memorably Romeo and Juliet had 'Shadows' and these shadows could perform through dance and movement some of the emotions of the piece. For the final tragic scene of the play we recorded the voices of the actors speaking the Shakespearean verse and this was heard during a very moving final tableau.

Romeo and Juliet was performed as a workshop for Burnham Opportunities Centre, and it was also taken to Amersham Gateway Club for our first evening participatory performance.
