Hamlet - The Clown Prince

Our first show is 26 June 2012 at at St. Peter's Church, Burnham

The first folio of Shakespeare's play contains this stage direction:

"Hamlet, Act V, Scene 1, enter the clowns"

This year we tackle Shakespeare's greatest tragedy, Hamlet. Our version creates a new way of telling this story. The action is seen through the eyes of a group of travelling clowns. The clowns arrive in the middle of the tragedy and their actions are in stark contrast to the cold harsh world of the Elsinore Court.
